Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Glance (“Glance,” “we,” “us”) provides an AI visibility & optimization platform that measures how businesses appear across major AI models. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and product, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

If you have questions, write to us at glancemetricszw@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Account data. When you create an account we collect your email address and an encrypted password. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.
  • Business information. The business name, website URL, industry, location, and any social or directory profile links you enter into our analyze form, settings, or business detail page.
  • Contact form submissions. Your name, email, and the message you send via our contact form, used to reply to you.

2.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Visitor country. When you run an analysis we record the two-letter ISO country code your request appears to come from (e.g. ZW, ZA). It's used for analytics (“where is demand coming from?”) and as a soft signal during manual business-ownership verification. We do not store your IP address, city, or any finer-grained location.
  • Cookies and session storage. We set a session cookie when you log in so we know you're logged in. We use localStorage in your browser to remember small non-identifying preferences such as which recommendations you have marked as done.
  • Basic request logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) and our database provider (Supabase) keep standard infrastructure logs (timestamps, request paths, response codes) for reliability and security. We do not enrich these with personal profiles.

2.3 What we do not collect

  • We do not store payment card numbers. If we add paid plans, payments are handled by a regulated processor (e.g. Stripe) and the card data never touches our servers.
  • We do not use ad-tracking pixels or third-party advertising cookies.
  • We do not collect biometric data, facial images, or precise location.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the service: run analyses, score AI visibility, generate recommendations, send reports.
  • To send transactional email: account confirmations, password resets, scheduled-analysis digests when you opt in.
  • To improve the product: aggregate, de-identified usage patterns help us refine scoring and prioritization.
  • To enforce our terms and protect against abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to train third-party advertising models.

4. Engine data and business records

Glance maintains a separate “engine” database that stores one canonical record per business (deduplicated by website domain or, for businesses without a website, by name and location). This record contains:

  • The business's name, domain, industry, location.
  • Time-stamped AI visibility scores from each analysis run.
  • A link to the user who ran each analysis (account ID or anonymous ID), so we can attribute history.

Because the engine is keyed off public business identity (e.g. a domain), the same business record can be touched by analyses from multiple users. If you are the owner of a business and want to claim or remove its record, contact us at glancemetricszw@gmail.com.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account data: for the life of your account. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion, except where retention is required by law.
  • Reports you have run: retained while your account is active. Anonymous reports are retained indefinitely as public records (they have shareable URLs).
  • Email logs: 90 days at our email provider.
  • Engine business records: retained as part of the canonical dataset. Removable on owner request, see Section 4.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information. You can edit your business profile directly in the dashboard.
  • Delete your account and the personal information we hold about you.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email glancemetricszw@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply under the GDPR (EU/UK), POPIA (South Africa), the NDPR (Nigeria), DPA 2019 (Kenya), the ZDPA (Zimbabwe), and similar laws. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards: HTTPS everywhere, encrypted data at rest at our database provider, row-level security so users can only read and write their own records, server-side enforcement of all sensitive operations, and short-lived sessions. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

8. International data transfers

Our service providers operate globally. Personal data may be processed in the United States, the European Union, or other jurisdictions where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as standard contractual clauses).

9. Children

Glance is intended for use by businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. For material changes we will notify account holders by email.
